Thank you to everyone who came along to our Quiz Night on Saturday. We raised over £800, which is a fantastic effort. It was a really good social night, with a lot of laughs (and additional games of bingo!)
Please sign up and help us raise vital funds. There is no cost to you and you shop online with the suppliers, as you would normally – just log in to Give as you Live and click on the participating companies.
We are already thinking about Christmas and getting referrals for gifts to go to children who would otherwise wake up without presents. If your employer would consider doing a Christmas Jumper Day for our charity, every penny donated would make their Christmas an extra special one. We can provide posters for you to display. Please message us if you can help. Thank you
Please take a minute to go on to this link and vote for us as their “Charity of the Year” with JustGiving – thank you!
It is only with your generous help and support that we can continue !
You can make a financial donation directly into our bank account:-

Comments received this week – From a Social Worker – “Thank you so much. Without amazing people like you, nothing would ever change”; From a single mum struggling to feed her children; “Hi there, I tried to call you to say thank you for the shopping that we received. I am lost for words at such generosity, I’m having an awful time at the moment, and didn’t realise that there were charities out there such as this. Please let me know if there is anything I can do in return” . This is the reason we are here, and, as supporters of our Charity, you are all part of this. The cost of food is increasing all the time – we average £70 per food shop and in the last 11 days have provided 6. If you can support us at your place of work (with a collection tin or charity event), or could sponsor our charity for a minimal monthly donation, please get in touch. Thank you xxx
We have 6 new charity pots ready to go to their new collection points. If you/your employer could have a charity pot where you work, that would be amazing. Every donation really does help – £20 will buy nappies and baby milk for a new mum, £40.00 will buy a microwave for a family in temporary accommodation; and £70.00 will pay for a food shop for a family of 4. We are all volunteers, and every penny/item donated goes directly to the local families in need
Please sign up to “Give as you Live” and earn money for us while you shop.
Give as you Live is a shopping and price comparison website with a heart. You can shop for products from thousands of leading online retailers; use our price comparison tool to ensure you get the best price and even save money by using the exclusive offers and deals available on our site.
Don’t forget, a percentage of every purchase you make will be donated to charity.
Where does the money come from?
Like other price comparison websites, we generate money through affiliate marketing. This means that retailers pay us commission each time a sale is generated for them through our site and we pass at least 50% of this on to the charity of the supporter’s choice.
We are a very small charity, with three trustees and a little group of Volunteers. We all run the charity in our spare time, which ensures that 100% of donations made (and every item donated) goes directly to the families we support. We currently cover the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole areas.
In the past week alone, we have supported 7 families, most of them have been victims of domestic violence or human trafficking, and are trying to re-build their lives following safeguarding in the refuges. We have supplied them with children’s and adults clothing, toys, books, baby clothes, baby equipment, birthday presents, food, bedding, carpet and furniture. We are self funded, and rely purely on public donations of items, monetary donations from public and local companies, and our own fundraising (fetes, charity pots, quiz nights, raffle etc).
If you could put us forward as a nominated charity at your place of work, or have one of our Charity Pots at your workplace, this would help us continue our vital work.
