Providing Essential Transport for a Mum

Following the donation of the double buggy (and additional travel cot) -this is the response we received ……… “Oh my word, the kindness of people!
I have just delivered the double buggy (almost brand new) to our parent and she was absolutely thrilled! I relieved the lovely lady of a travel cot while I was there as well. Thank you guys again. We at school have been absolutely blown away by your response.”

We couldn’t do this without your generosity of donating pre-loved items such as these – so thank you. You can see how much difference it makes to someone in need.

Heartbreaking Stories of Children in Poverty with No Christmas Gifts

We are starting to get the Christmas Present Referrals in – makes very sad reading, and reinforces why the need for our Charity in this area is huge. Some of the background stories – “two siblings victims of sexual abuse”; “Young carer age 8 of mum with severe mental health issues”; “Child living with other family members due to mother’s addictions and past domestic violence”; “Parent struggling due to domestic violence”; “Parent in drug recovery, other parent terminally ill“; “Children living in constant fear due to alcoholic parent”; “Young siblings caring for their parents who both have cancer”. These are just a handful of the referrals we are getting in. Let’s help make their Christmas magical – if you would like to make a donation, please visit our website www.ashleysbirthdaybank.com which will show the various ways you can do this. Every pound will make a difference.Thank you

Thank you to our Recent Supporters

Thank you to the hundreds of you who responded to our post about the domestic violence referral. Sadly, this type of referral is our most common (around 80% are domestic violence related) – we are continuing to support this family, and will do a full update next week. Other thank you’s go to four kind ladies, one of whom gave us a cheque for £100 towards our Christmas fund to support local families with gifts (over 800 last year) and treat boxes, a lady who purchased brand new duvets and pillows for the family, and also paid for a new sofa for them, a lady who purchased brand new coats for the parent and child; and finally to Janine from Beauty No.1 Salons who raised £85.00 in the South Run last weekend. You are all amazing, and help us continue supporting these families.
